We checked in at the domestic airport about an hour before our flight. It took a little longer with our whole group, so we didn't even sit down when we reached the gate, we just walked right onto our flight. I was glad not to spend any additional time in an airport after our extended recent travels to get to Istanbul! No worries about my luggage weighing too much. It was 15 kilos (20 kilo limit).
We thought about stopping for Turkish delight, but I decided to snag some postcards instead as we waited for the group to get through checking in. Security- no problem. Liquids, no problem. Shoes - stayed on.
I found this headrest cover quite amusing.
The safety briefing video was all little kids giving and acting out the instructions! Definitely caught my attention more than the usual adult instructions.

The airport was newish and small. 2 carosels for arriving luggage.
The sunset after our landing was quite beautiful!
