We've seen the upscale and the not so upscale sides of hotels in Buenos Aires today. My colleague happened to book a room in the Hilton just off Plaza de Mayo. We are in a discount hotel about 10 blocks away.

However, our room is clean, comfortable, quiet, and we are only paying $61/nt for it, so I'm ok with this in the end : )

Our room. Definitely discount sized. Fine for sleeping and cleaning up, but not exactly a comfortable place to hang out for a long time.
