Decided to end our walking exploration of the city with a trip on the metro back to our starting point. The subway is the oldest in South America and has been privatized and is undergoing restoration. It was quick and easy to use, but I wouldn't want to be in the tight quarters during rush hour.
Local entrepreneur working the train...annoying novelty: he had a personal mic system that made it impossible to ignore his sales speech!
