Quest for a spectacular city view

Sometimes it pays to stop and chat with the tourist information people at the airport, and it was definitely worthwhile for us today.  With rain coming down and low clouds, we decided to start our day at "the tower".  A lady at the airport had told me that it was free to go up to the 55th floor for a city view.  Since it looked like our hike on Victoria Peak would be rained out, we decided to try it.  What an amazing view!

Also on the 55th floor was a currency museum of sorts, with info about the Hong Kong banking industry.  I particularly liked this art display of the harbor made of over 135,000 coins worth approximately 65,000 HKD.
Close up view.  It was 3D.  There were layers stacked on top of each other.

Old photo of the water front from 1923
 Same view in 2003

After checking out Victoria Peak from the Tower building, and seeing that the top of the Tram tower was visible, we decided to head over to the tram and ride to the top.
This is what we were supposed to be looking at down below us....
This is actually what we could see...
Sadly disappointed, but very glad we went to the 55th floor of the Tower.
Very steep tram to take us to the top and back down.  You can see the angle of the tram compared to the buildings we were passing.
