Anne Frank House

We visited the Anne Frank House and the Westerkirk next door.  There were no pictures allowed in the Anne Frank house, but it was a very well done exhibit.  People were quite respectful of the space and each other although there were a lot of people moving through the tight space. In addition to the living space itself (which remained unfurnished according to the wishes of Otto Frank), there were quotes on the walls describing various part of the house and the people that lived there together.  They also had interviews with surivors who knew Anne, as well as her father (the only survivor of those who hid in the house).  I really liked the various photos of her and her family members.  I was astounded that as many pictures and other documents had been preserved from that time.
There were no tickets available to climb to the top of this tower (just like there were none for the Old Church the day before).  So sad that I will not be able to climb anything in Amsterdam!
