Interklaken lodging

We found our AirBnB in Interlaken without any trouble.  We were a little earlier than check in time and weren't sure if they'd be ready for us or not.  The lady let us in and said her brother would be back soon to talk to us.  We left our luggage and walked to the grocery store that was a block away.
We have the upstairs flat.

Strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and apricots all growing in the yard.

When we returned, our host greeted us and walked us through the details of the flat.  He was pretty talkative, including showing us where the light switches were, how to operate the dishwasher and oven (which can be quite a challenge when you are used to different applies and can't interpret the abbreviated lettering on them).  He was very specific about closing windows when out - the periodic afternoon showers can blow rain in and get things wet) - and about locking the front door by twisting twice - not just once- to fully deadbolt.  His litany of explanations was like a history of all the things that previous guests had done that were problematic (coming in with cow dung on your hiking boots and treking through the apartment). I think he will find us good guests.

The house decor is weird. Kind of 70's style, but doesn't actually seem that old.  New-retro?  This radio on the other hand is the real thing.  Clearly an antique - and it still works.

After a trip to the store(s) we came home with tortelli, pesto and a green salad.  A good end to a long travel day.
