Tribute to a consumer society

You have likely noticed that many airports are beginning to look more and more like shopping malls... I know my gate is here somewhere, probably just beyond the Gucci store. But this is the first time I've noticed that train stations across Europe are starting to look the same way.  Kings Cross had had a nice face lift in London, but it was still obvious where the platforms were versus lunch and shopping options.  This was not the case when we passed through Hamburg:

Notice the sign for Platforms 5 and 6 looks like its pointing you into a toy store!
