Robin Hood Bay

After getting off the ferry and making our way to our hotel in Blenheim, we decided to nap for a bit (early morning!) and then explore the local beaches.  Someone told us that Robin Hood bay was pretty.  Thanks to google maps (and not the hotel owner who gave indecipherable rambling directions), we followed a very windy, narrow road along the coast and reached the bay.  What a beautiful destination!

There were lots of tent campers parked along the side of the road (no formal tent sites), and a single porta-potty for everyone.  Glad we weren't staying the night.

The sand on this beach was quite a contrast to the other day at Sinclair point.  It was so fine it wouldn't even brush off when dry.

The road climbed quite a bit in elevation (steep rocky cliffs along the coast).  This was the view of the vineyards in the valley below near Blenheim.
