Highway signs and others

Love the "choochoo" crossing sign!

We did not see Frosty while we were here in Christmas : )

From a beer garden in Blenheim

It would be really hard to pull off the "no" behavior on the tiny little stools in the bathroom where this sign was.

"Please return your "trundler" here" - at the grocery store.

We got a big laugh out of this sign.  For some reason it struck us as funny... "farming tourists".  How close together are you supposed to plant them?  (Some of the Asian ones fit pretty close together!)  Do you have to rotate crops? (Apparently all types are cultivated year round!)  How much water do they need?  (On a summer's day like today - a lot!)

Santa hat was a nice touch.

At the grocery store.

Various live stock signs - Cows - prepare to stop.  We've not run into any cattle on the road.

General warning sign - we debated whether this was helpful and made you more alert, looking around for why the warning was there, or whether you tuned out because it was not more specific...

Penguins  - next 10 kms.

beach hens (??) next 4 kms

There were SO MANY one lane bridges.  Each had a sign about whether you yielded, or the other side did.
Some of the bridges were short, some were long.  Many were around sharp corners and it was hard to see if there was anyone coming from the other side that you needed to yield to (or not).

We saw these kinds of dual signs often... not sure if I should go 10 kph or 50 kph.

I wanted to get a picture of the other sign we saw on our glacier hike that had a person with rocks falling ON his head.  Both of these dangerous conditions exist, obviously, but the images on the signs are funny.

Collection of highway safety signs - mostly posted every 10 km or so.
"Headlights on - Reduce the Risk"

"Headlights on - Day and Night"

"Long way to go? - Plan a Break"

"Truck drivers - Keep it 10 kph below" - the max national speed is 100 kph.

"Feeling Sleepy?  - Pull over" - I found these signs vaguely suggested and had to fight the yawns when I read them.

"Be Aware - Slow down here"

"Wet Road?  - Increase the gap"

"Belt up - Live on"

"Less speed - Less harm"
Ride within your limits - never test them
Look for motorcycles then look again.

Arrive alive - Drive to Survive

Take a break - Drive Fresh

I think every province has different colored signs...but not sure why we've seen three different themes in the different places we've traveled so far.

Move Left and Allow others to Pass

Check your Speed

Drink Drive Die
