Arrival in Edinburgh

The flight was a short 6 hours, so with dinner served 1 hour after take off, and breakfast 1 hour before landing, I got a total of 4 hours sleep.  But, it was great to arrive to sunshine in Edinburgh this morning!  I had to laugh when we passed through passport control in the line labeled "All Non-EU"...this could very soon be the same line that all those holding UK passports are standing in.

Also found it interesting that the signage in Passport control was in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, AND POLISH.  I wasn't aware that that many Poles arrived in Edinburgh, but apparently they are immigrating in significant numbers.

Tram was easy to catch into the city and we didn't have too much trouble finding our hostel, although there are different levels in the old city with some streets crossing on top of others, so we had to find a way to the 'lower level' to get where we wanted to go.

Stored our luggage at the hostel (no checkin till 3:00) and decided to head to the Botanical Gardens.

We got checked in later in the day.  Its a good place (much more roomy than our last accommodation in Copenhagen!)  Its nice to have a non-bunk bed that I can simply sit on instead of hunching over.
