We were treated to an interesting event tonight...the new mayor of Geneva was welcomed with a special ceremony and reception right on the cathedral square where our hostel is.
The mayor is in the center of the picture in the suit. There was a fife and drum core that played, and a marching band.
There were also street artists that did juggling, acrobatics, and other entertainments while the bands played. I was a bit surprised by some of the acrobatics they did on the hard cobblestones with no spotting!
Wines were served (better than any our group had purchased and tried during the trip)
Cheeses, fruits, and risotto were also served.
