We said good bye to Rome today and headed to Venice. We grabbed lunch (and possible dinner if we can't find an open restaurant) at the grocery store. Then the group took a brief stop at the Baths of Caracalla and walked through a residential neighborhood to reach the train station. The park I had spotted on the map as a restful place to hang out was a cemetary instead, so the group found a small green space to wait until it was time to catch the train. (I overestimated the time it would take, but better too much time than too little I guess).
The train was very modern and nice. Along some of the stretches it picked up speed to 250-300 km/hour (approx 150 mph). I was surprised by the large number of tunnels that we went through. Poor Adam has a head cold and his ears would not pop, very uncomfortable!
