Arrival in Rome

Yea!  Everyone in the group made it to Rome (two members were traveling on separate flights) and everyone got their luggage.  I had planned to take the express train from the airport to the hotel (which is a few blocks from the main train station), but the train pulled out a minute or so after we arrived on the platform before we had a chance to get tickets.  The ticket vendor suggested that we take shuttle buses which were just 1E more than the train and could leave right away.  I'm always a little nervous about solicited transportation at the airport, but this worked out fine.  The only down side was that we did not have a chance to hit the ATM machines and did not get to explore the neighborhood and train station last night.  We are off this morning for the grand tour of the city, starting with the Coloseum and Forum, then on to St. Peter's and the Trevi Fountain.  It is supposed to be a beautiful day!
