I love collecting random photos of funny things I see on the trip. They don't usually fit into my chronological posts, so I save them for the end and put them in one collection.
Love this caution sign.
Charlene was on the hunt for our travel mascot: Meet Sean the Sheep!
White delivery vans were ubiquitous on the roads everywhere. When providing navigation instructions it was often - the way is clear after the white van, or turn where that white van is. Rather than modifying it to a slug bug game, we decided it should be a drinking game. Drink after every white van - I can tell you, we counted over 30 in just five minutes on one day. We'd all be under the table pretty quickly with this game!
Ice cream shop called "Ice of Life". Clearly a play on the Water of Life (whisky). For those who love ice cream, this seemed particularly appropriate. Since was in the 60s and raining, I did not feel compelled to try any...
We discovered sugar packets that have history lessons and famous sayings on them. On the front, the year...
On back, factoids. 1971: The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final sees 10 goals and 31 points. Tipperary wins.
In Ballycastle. Sadly we didn't see any hedgehogs.
Its a little hard to read, but the Old Tea Room was established in 2018 - ha!
We laughed at the names of some things, including a number of Emo gas stations.
I was surprised to see Texaco and Circle K stations here.
When we were in Dublin, a lady told us to be sure to taste "99" ice cream when we were in Galway. I wasn't sure that this meant. Was this a brand or a local specialty or what? While in Galway, we passed an ice cream shop and I went in and asked the server - what is a 99? He looked very puzzled and then laughed and said its a soft serve cone that used to cost 99 cents (but doesn't any more). We saw a number of ice cream signs like this, but actually didn't each a lot of ice cream.
Ireland is proud of ratifying gay marriage in 2015 and in every small town we passed through, the pride flags were flying everyone during pride month.
Yes, please.
