Arrived in Erfurt to find some of the conference staff greeting us. I did not expect this, but it was nice to follow someone to the hotel. The streets in the town are narrow and windy and the town is totally charming from the moment you leave the train station.
Our hotel room feels very luxurious and we have a great view from the 4th story window.
They even left us Haribo gummy bears on our pillows!
I have seen elevators that open in the front and back sides, but never one that opens at a 90 degree angle !
We got registered at the Rathaus (Town Hall) and then went exploring for dinner.
We found the heart of the Christmas market that will be opening in two days.
We entered the Dom Platz and this is what greeted us! Wow! Delaney said she could see Dementors circling around it. lol.
When we came out of the restaurant, the fog had lifted a bit. Hope to see this on a clearer day while we are here.
This is where we landed for dinner and it was a GREAT choice!
Great food.
Great service by a waiter wearing leiderhosen.
And topped off by Apple streudel!
Our server was great. He was so relieved when we didn't ask him to split our check - lol. He even got a selfie with the group (on the left).
