Streets of Barcelona

After we dropped off our bags, we set out to explore the city.  The streets were quieter on Sunday and a weekday, but still pretty busy, especially the public squares.

This was near Plaza Catalunya.  There were North African street vendors literally every five feet selling knock off handbags, sunglasses, hats, selfie sticks, and various souvenirs.  They are all set out on sheets with ties on the end to bundle up quickly and leave if the cops arrive.  The ones in Barcelona seem less worried than those in Madrid.  I don't know how they sell anything set up so close to each other.  We saw two of them get in an argument at Guell park when one was underselling another.  They were making a racket and one of the security people at the park said he would call the cops if they didn't knock it off.

I love the narrow streets in the old city.

There were beautiful purple trees growing in the city.  I dont' know what they were though.

This tram track was right next to the sidewalk with no guard or anything, just a simple sign saying 'caution'.  It was very quiet too!  hard to hear coming.

Found a fun street for Harry Potter fans. "Trelawny street"
A cow for Ale-Hop stores (in both Madrid and Barcelona), and a camel for this unidentified store!

I originally took these pictures of street tiles thinking that I would see a lot of different kinds, but then I didn't see any more than these three.  The bottom one is my favorite.
