After checking in, we decided to walk to find dinner. The Boston Commons was nearby, so we strolled in that direction. We came upon a very old cemetary and wandered through. Delaney was saddened to see all of the small tombstones with children's names on them.
The first thing on our agenda was to look for the geocache that I had already discovered in the park. David and I sat on a bench and gave Delaney the GPS. I spotted a couple poking around the fence near us and realized they were also searching for the cache. They found it, signed it, and Delaney told them to re-hide it while she looked away so she could discover it herself :)
One of my favorite things about big cities are the big public greens. So many interesting people there. I was not disappointed. We noticed a large audience around some people dancing. As we approached, we saw groups of 6 and 9 dancers doing what looked kind of like square dancing with accordion accompaniment. They were all dressed with white tops and white pants with large sets of jingle bells tied to both legs. They each had a set of white hankerchefs and they would wave them as they danced. There were multiple groups taking their turns performing. At one point a girl came by with a flyer explaining that they were "Morris Dancing", which originated in England and each village had a different pattern of dancing. There were actually several groups there from England and they were all performing in a large group the next night.
We headed on to a pub for dinner - very tasty. Then went back to play on the very large playscape in the park for a while. Delaney immediately found friends of course and they took turns running an obstacle course.
We returned to the hotel to find milk and cookies delivered for Delaney (a special accommodation for guests with kids). This made her night. We all read and went to bed.
